The Marangoni Institute is the most prestigious private Italian fashion school, born in Milan, now opening an office also in Florence, in Via Tornabuoni. This great school, founded in 1935 by tailor Giulio Marangoni, gave the chance of raising up to some of the most famous designers: from Moschino to Alessandra Facchinetti or Rafael Lopez, as well as Domenico Dolce. For the special opening event of Pitti Uomo 88, the Marangoni students have turned on the runaway lights in a real fashion show, where clothes were paired to a particular and curious gold leaf make-up. Gold leaf face decorations called back to ancient tribal marks.
This year, also Rick Owens, inspired in his new collection autumn-winter 2015-16 by the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright, by deep California and his Mexican roots, brought inspired Mayan masks made up of gold and silver leaf covering models faces. Gold and silver masks revealing a special effect that caught anyone’s attention.
We can talk about gold leaf maniac?
