The idea was taken as a challenge, explains Ryan Korban, one of the interior designers who took care of the project together with young brand designer, Edgardo Osorio.
Ryan Korban is the artist who, after completing his studies at the New School of New York, developed his own style, which combines luxury and romanticism. Inspired by Monet’s paintings and Helmut Newton’s photographs, he tries to define a new concept of design for the future generations. Korban specialises in retail spaces and luxury stores. His portfolio includes the homes of personalities from the world of fashion, cinema, and music.
The two interior designers drew inspiration from the world’s most beautiful buildings to recreate a boutique that looks like a true cathedral of style with striped columns, high arches, and a dome that hints at the Duomo in Florence. The pink tiles, marble floors, the application of gold leaf to the shelves, sculpture-like sofas and marble top table are only some of the bespoke furnishings of the store.
The mix of materials has been key to the success of this project. Gold leaf, marble, suede, brass, and velvet are the means used to provide light to even the darkest corners. The result is an environment where customers can retreat from everyday reality. A sort of a “temple inside a store”.
Gold is the instrument used to provide a special light that entices those who see it from the outside to come inside and step into a different and innovative world.
