Three delights made in Italy for Gold Ice-cream.

From the 10th to the 12th of March “Taste 13” was held at the Leopolda station in Florence, dedicated to the delicacies of taste and food lifestyle Made in Italy. The event, as well as hosting the best national culinary professionals, was an opportunity to discover and taste delicatessen products and the creative innovations from contemporary food. In addition to the events at the Leopolda station, the 2017 edition of Taste involved a full schedule of events in the most famous streets of Florence. Dinners, themed tastings and creative performances were the main stars of Fuori di Taste, which every year is able to create conviviality, cultural excitement and new interpretations around the theme of food and taste.

Among the events of “Fuori di Taste” the historic Italian manufactory Richard Ginori presented “C’era una volta il gelataio matto” (‘There was once a mad ice-cream maker’) at its Florentine flagship store on Via de’ Rondinelli 17. A special event of Ice-cream Tasting dedicated to the Richard Ginori art of hospitality and the art of the master ice-cream maker Vetulio Bondi.

For the occasion, the master ice-cream maker Vetulio Bondi, authentic Florentine and president of the Association of Florentine Artisan Ice-cream Makers, prepared an exclusive tasting of “Gold ice-cream” for his visitors, presenting a re-visitation of refined saffron ice-cream, considered since the 700s as yellow gold par excellence, in a precious bowl signed by Vecchio Ginori. To further enhance his creation, the master ice-cream maker finished it off by applying Giusto Manetti Battiloro 23 karat edible gold leaf to the creamy surface of the ice-cream.

“There was once a mad ice-cream maker” was born from the desire to tell the tale of Florentine gold through the union of the value of three excellences Made in Italy. The Richard Ginori manufactory which, since way back in 1700, combines the white gold of its porcelain with the ritual of laying the table, the recipe for saffron ice-cream of the Master Ice-cream Maker and President of the Association of Florentine Artisan Ice-cream Makers Vetulio Bondi and Giusto Manetti Battiloro edible gold, manufacturing excellence in the production and sale of real gold and silver leaves.

Passion, artisanal know-how and valuing Florentine origins were the main values that characterised this event, accompanied by the curiosity and the constant desire to offer an excellent artisanal product that for years have been the basis of Vetulio Bondi’s philosophy.
