Palladium leaf in rolls allows for rapid and accurate gilding on large flat surfaces. Individual leaves are applied by hand onto a roll of tissue paper at a standard length of 20.5 metres with the width varying by leaf dimension. In the gilding phase rolls can be cut to length using ordinary scissors, paying special attention to cutting in proximity to the joints between leaves.
