Use method

Applied to reactivate the adhesive power of the base (component 1, sold separately Kolner size base) if it dries during excessively long size to leaf application time frames. Apply the activator across the surface with a brush or pad in as thin a layer as possible. Before applying the leaf check that the activator is dry or the gilding may be matte or patchy. It only takes a few minutes to dry. The activator can be used a long time after size application, too. Once the first portion is gilded, move on to the next section, applying activator to the edges, too (approx. 1 mm) of the area already gilded to allow homogeneous leaf adhesion. For a uniformly gilded result, rub the gilt surface with a cotton cloth.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place in its original container, away from direct sunlight and sources of heat. Ideal storage conditions are 15-25°C and lower than 50% humidity.

Additional information

Dilution percentage, application method and quantities applied may significantly affect the workability time. The most suitable application methods should be determined by experimentation on the basis of the surface being gilded and the desired result.
