Colorless acrylic primer used to seal the porosity of wood, creating a smooth and even base before final painting or decoration. Essential for preparing porous surfaces such as plaster, cardboard, or raw wood before gilding.
The raw wooden surface must be clean and dry. Before application, sanding with fine-grit sandpaper is required to remove raised wood fibers, followed by careful dust removal. The product should be applied in one or two even coats using a brush or roller, spreading it uniformly without excess material. If additional coats are required, they may be applied shortly after one another, always ensuring even coverage. After application, allow approximately 1 hour until touch dry. Then proceed with intermediate sanding using very fine-grit sandpaper or steel wool to remove fibers raised by the product’s moisture. After approximately 6–8 hours, once completely dry, gilding can be carried out.
Store in a cool, dry place in its own container, closed, and away from direct light and heat. The ideal temperature is 15-25°C with humidity under 50%.
Dilution percentage, application method and quantity applied may significantly affect the workability time. The most suitable application methods should be determined by experimentation on the basis of the surface being gilded and the desired result.
