Florence, November 2019 – Echoing the Palme d’Or in Cannes, the France Odeon festival awards the Golden Leaf to the greatest protagonists of French cinema each year in Florence. The prize, which consists of a 24kt golden leaf hand-beaten by the artisans at Giusto Manetti Battiloro, was awarded to Gérard Depardieu for the road-movie “French Tour”, by Rachid Djaidani (2016), and to Oscar winner Michel Hazanavicius for “Le Redoutable” (2017), among other recipients.
This year the award went to Valeria Golino, who received the Golden Leaf of Honour from actress Chiara Francini for her performance in the film “Dernier amour”, by director Benoit Jacquot.
