For Milan Design Week, Giusto Manetti Battiloro and Devon&Devon are celebrating the partnership that has united them for decades. On 8 September, the Milan showroom of the well-known home and bathroom design brand will be hosting the Golden Twist Cocktail Party, a major event conceived to surprise guests by taking them on a journey of discovery into the infinite forms and unique charm of gold leaf.
Sophisticated sparkles will illuminate Devon&Devon’s magnificent conservatory on Milan’s Via San Marco with a magical light, in a crescendo of surprises unveiling both ancient traditions and new ways of using gold and silver leaf.
Design will be in the spotlights, with an installation dedicated to Devon&Devon’s Mida cast iron bathtub, a genuine jewel destined for the world’s most luxurious bathrooms. Its external surface is entirely covered with Manetti gold leaf, applied by hand in Tuscany by the greatest master gilders and protected by a coat of special transparent synthetic varnish.
Eyes will also be on Manetti’s Beauty Gold cosmetics, with guests at the party invited to enjoy a 24KT gold leaf hairstyling session using Devon&Devon’s iconic Zelda vanity table, a tribute to F. Scott Fitzgerald’s muse and the beauty of early-20th-century design.
All this will be toasted by unforgettable cocktails featuring Manetti’s Gold Chef edible gold and silver powder, crumbs and flakes.
“We are happy”, Niccolò Manetti explains, “to be participating in this special edition of the Salone del Mobile trade fair together with Devon&Devon and thus celebrating the special partnership that unites our companies, both symbols of Tuscan craftsmanship. Devon&Devon furniture, mirrors, bathtubs and furnishings incorporating Manetti’s gold and silver leaf are a fine example of our idea of excellence and a true tribute to the savoir faire of our artisanal goldbeaters and master gilders. Like Giusto Manetti Battiloro, Devon&Devon is a Florentine company that has built its success in the world by treasuring the best of local tradition and continually innovating it. The event is both an expression and a celebration of a truly special association.”
