East Norwalk, Connecticut, March 2014 – Barbara Ross-Innamorati has developed a collection of gilded and burnished jewellery made entirely by hand using Giusto Manetti Battiloro’s 22kt gold and silver leaf. Her creations are truly unique pieces, inspired by the ancient seventeenth-century artisanal gilding tradition, but reinterpreted with a contemporary style.
“I love gold leaf and its unique ability to transform even the most ordinary object into something extraordinary and unique,” the designer explains.
The idea of using gold leaf for her creations dates back to 1970, when Barbara was visiting the National Gallery in London and was awestruck by the splendour of Gustav Klimt’s works. Since then she has never stopped travelling and using her world experiences as inspiration, resulting in jewellery designs with an unmistakeable personality.
